PUBLIC PROJECTS

 

Rooney Associate Architects have vast experience working within the public sphere, particularly regarding religios and cultural spaces. The practice acted as Diocesan architects for a period of 18 years for the Diocese of Elphin withing in the North - West. The practice was responsible for a wide range of projects; from the re-ordering of St. Mary's Cathedral Sligo for the Centenary Celebration re-opening, to the construction of a number of new churches. Rooney Associates Architects have also been involved in the re-ordering of many small parishes.

 

The practice has built substansial expertise within the area of building refurbishment and conservation, working on listed residential buildings and on a number of larger scale refurbishments of ecclesiastical buildings: St. Mary's Cathedral, The Cow Byrne Arts Centre & the Greek Embassy Dublin Grade 1 Georgian protected structure in Dublin.
